Synopsis
This documentary explores the origins, migration, and settlement of the Amaragooli people, shedding light on their rich cultural traditions. From birth to death, the Amaragooli upheld deeply rooted customs. After birth, rituals were performed to affirm the child’s ancestral connection. At age 12, boys underwent traditional circumcision, a rite of passage essential for social acceptance. Marriage centered on the bride’s upbringing, with elders from her family determining the dowry price. In death, a man was buried on the right side of the house, while his wife was laid to rest on the left. The Amaragooli were predominantly farmers and embraced Christianity while preserving their cultural heritage.
